HR Manager (part time)

Job summary

With recent growth in the business, we are now seeking a dedicated HR lead who is able to maintain the ethos and oversee administrative and compliance matters. The company is part of the AQA family

Purpose of role:

To provide in house HR support to Doublestruck management in all areas such that staff flourish, with good professional development, training and opportunities for growth. To take responsibility for ensuring policies and documentation are kept up to date.

Reporting to: Director of Operations

Location: Based in London or Guildford office but will need to be visible in both locations.

Working hours: 16 - 24 hours per week, number of days to be agreed, ideally full working days.

Key responsibilities:

Staff well-being

●Proactive engagement with staff to facilitate a good working environment
●Encouraging communication to enhance engagement between colleagues
●Providing support and helping staff manage stress from internal or external events
●Supporting line managers in getting the best from their teams

Staff development

●Management of annual staff review process
●Implementation and management of professional development plans for staff
●Ensuring staff job descriptions and job titles are accurate and up to date
●Ensuring that first aiders’ and fire wardens’ training is kept up to date
●Ensuring that accident logs are kept and stored appropriately
Senior management support
●Preparation and circulation of monthly HR report to senior managers
●Facilitation of the annual salary review process
●Liaison with AQA HR as and when needed
Policy and process
●Ensuring staff handbook and associated policies are kept up to date and followed
●Supporting managers and staff in interpreting and implementing policies
●Leading any HR related issues such as disciplinary, grievance or performance improvement
●Oversight of holiday and sickness tracking
●Managing the filing and security of HR records
●Ensuring that data retention policies are followed with regard to HR data

Joiners and leavers

●Supporting hiring managers with the recruitment processes for full time, part time, permanent and temporary staff as well as contractors
oSupporting creation of job descriptions
oLiaison with recruitment agencies and job boards
oOrganising and supporting the interview process
●Ensuring contracts are fit for purpose
●Ensuring that the onboarding process is managed appropriately
●Ensuring that the leavers process is managed appropriately
●Facilitating provision of references etc to ex-staff
Line management
●Management of the HR/Office Administrator

●Regular, monthly HR reports to MD & DoT informing business decisions
●Robust hiring process in place
●Effective onboarding/offboarding processes employed
●GDPR compliant document retention policies implemented
●Good working relations with AQA HR team
●Continuous improvement of HR processes established
