We are an independent education charity and the largest provider of academic qualifications taught in schools and colleges. We set and mark the papers for around half of all GCSEs and A-levels and nearly two million students sit our exams every summer. At AQA we employ over 1,000 people, as well as the 30,000 people who mark, moderate and work with us to deliver our qualifications. We have offices in Guildford, Manchester, Harrogate, London and Bath.

As a member of the Assessment Design Team, the Assessment Design Manager is responsible for reviewing assessment performance, planning improvements and commissioning assessments to ensure that outcomes are as valid and reliable as possible. The role will include supporting and managing the work of senior examiners and other teams in their contribution to the review of assessment performance, and helping define AQA’s position on assessment issues.

We’re looking for someone with:

•knowledge of good assessment design theory and practice
•excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•strong people management skills
•ability to support the engagement of key stakeholders
•strong data analysis skills and experience
•extensive knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
