Fixed Term Contract (24 months)
We’re looking for an engagement and communications specialist to support a transformational change programme working with AQA employees and associates (individuals who work with us to produce and mark our exams) to deliver changes in the way we produce our question papers. In this role, you’ll lead, develop and implement an effective communications and engagement plan to support the achievement of the programme’s strategic objectives.
As an Engagement and Communication Lead, you’ll work closely with the programme to drive and deliver integrated engagement and communications strategies and campaigns. You’ll ensure a joined-up approach, with clear and engaging messages for employees, as well as our many associates. You’ll also provide colleagues with tactical advice, guidance and support on their communications to ensure a cohesive and audience-focused approach, with clear and consistent messages.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a pro-active all-rounder with extensive experience of supporting change within a complex organisation; and a proven track record of developing and managing internal and external communication channels. You will have previous experience of working with energy and pace to ensure that key stakeholders are kept fully involved in changes that affect them through use of innovative and impactful engagement strategies. You’ll have extensive experience of developing and delivering employee and business transformation communications (including campaigns and plans) and will be able to advise senior colleagues to lead effective engagement through change.
The successful applicant will also have:
•extensive knowledge and experience of the full range of communication channels and how they contribute to successful engagement
•creative flair and the ability to turn business information into succinct, relevant and engaging content for various channels
•excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues with clarity and precision
•strong influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to work collaboratively with and through others and challenge appropriately when required
•the ability to think strategically and translate strategies into workable plans
•excellent interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to listen and empathise
•coaching skills and able to develop communication and engagement techniques and skills in others
•strong project and time management skills, capable of planning and delivering multiple projects, on time and to budget
•the credibility to influence at all levels.
You’ll be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and will have previous experience of a similar role and organisation.
